The thinking mans indie-art, Brooklyn improv collective Excepter aren’t space cowboys so much as cosmic beach-combers. Finding inspiration here and there over the course of constructing their massive back-catalogue, their sound is intensely layered and simultaneously deceptively soothing, just what you’d imagine if washed up on shore of a deserted planet, intergalactic luminessence streaking overhead.
Playing here in Berlin accompanied by the equally inspired Pharoah Chromium, this is a night at West Germany where we’re sure the walls will have some problem containing their sublime force. Presented by the illustrious kids of CTM Fest with an audience populated by astral-travellers and those of us who reluctantly dwell on planet Earth.
